Born and raised in Ottawa. Christian is deeply in love with creative expression. He turns ideas into a reality that others can experience. Christian’s images includes stories and scenarios built to stimulate the viewers while leaving room for their own interpretations. “I crave intensity and I let it show in my work. I consider my style to be intimate and powerful leaving no one indifferent” Come experience my work Thursday June 28th along with a musical performance by Ebony Bianca Hall.
Sneak a peek into what I’ve been working on for the past few months/years. Tonight at Shanghai. This interactive installation is called “illuminating our ancestors” it is an old discarded Chinese chandelier I repurposed. Fire, incense and smoke are often used to honour our ancestors in ceremony. In this piece, I hope to achieve a similar sense of ceremony using the chandelier light, sourced images of my family and technology to honour our ancestors. #myartprocess#artottawa#chinatownottawa#donkwanart#canadianart#illuminatingart @ Shanghai Restaurant
Animal Parade Vernissage & Exhibition by Sabine Modder… then BINGO TIME with China Doll @ 8:30 pm
Bessie Blue sees spots, but you should see art! My art, in fact. Please come on down to the Shanghai Restaurant on Thursday, March 29 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. to see my animals on parade. I’ll be there, hanging out and eating noodles. Stick around, look at the paintings, chat, maybe have some Chinese food and a drink. Then roll up your sleeves and get ready to dab! From 8:30 p.m. there will be fun, games and glamour when the marvelous China Doll hosts an evening of bingo. It doesn’t get any better than this!
I will be donating my proceeds from the sales of the paintings in this show to St. Luke’s Table, a community service that provides meals and support to those in need. St. Luke’s Table is also located in Chinatown. http://www.stlukestable.ca/
