Travel SOUVENIRS de voyages
Artist René Rivard started drawing in earnest at 14 and has never stopped producing art. After teaching for five years, he studied fine arts at the École des Beaux-Arts de Montréal (UQAM).
Various day jobs helped to pay the rent, these were mostly in the field of mental health with a special focus on services for the Deaf and
hard of hearing.
René loves to travel. He photographs landscapes, especially mountains which he then transforms into paintings.
The artist seldom exhibits his works and is thankful to Claude Jobin who facilitated this exhibition.
Join Rene and Claude at Shanghai Restaurant, Wednesday August 23rd 6pm – 10pm.
Ottawa Comic Jam
Wednesday, November 25, 7 – 9:30 pm, FREE
The Ottawa Comic Jam “Super Jam” invites participants of all ages to start, continue and complete group effort improvised comic strip stories.
It’s been quite a year! Come out to the LAST JAM of the season and draw your inspired (or twisted) versions of favorite yuletide icons. If you’ve been putting off attending a jam, now is your chance to get out to one before the End of Days. No excuses n__n
I have heard rumours that there may be treats involved n_n
I’m also bringing a box destined for the Food Bank, if folks would like to bring non-perishable foods to donate on behalf of the Ottawa Comic Jam Group 🙂 totally voluntary ♥
The art of the comic jam explores artistic collaboration, visual arts, and story telling. Comic jams challenge the creativity and improvisation skills of the participants as they start, continue or complete a comic strip story.
